ISKCON Bangalore wins the Court Case!

In a breaking news, on April 17th 2009, in the Trial Court of Bangalore, the judge finally passed an order in the matter of ISKCON, Bangalore vs ISKCON Mumbai. He ruled in favor of ISKCON Bangalore Society giving it the ownership to the Hare Krishna Hill and famous temple atop it. He thereby once for all put to rest all allegations of wrong doing or corrupt family dealings among the leadership of ISKCON Bangalore.

This ruling again reiterated the fact that ISKCON Bangalore, under the leadership of Sriman Madhu Pandit Das, is on the path shown by Krishna separate from the corrupt ISKCON Mumbai Society and its GBC leadership. This result will further enhance and deepen the quality of service of all the residents of Hare Krishna Hill to Sri Sri Radha Krishnacandra for the benefit of all humanity without unnecessary influences.

This ruling is further proof that what Krishna promises in the Bhagavad Gita that ” My devotees will never perish”, is hundred percent true even though we may not know His workings most of the time.

Thanks goes to devotees worldwide who stood by the ISKCON Bangalore devotees and their decade long struggle to reinstate Srila Prabhupada in the center of ISKCON inspite of severe hardships.

A message to HH Radhanath Swami, HH Jayaptaka Swami, HH Gopal Krishna Goswami and HH Bhakti Caru Swami: Please take this result, which has come inspite of immense funds sacrificed by you all (to the tune of many millions of dollars) and repeated confident assurances by Doyaram Das as Lord Krishna’s indication that NO ONE CAN DISTURB THE SERVICES OF HIS SINCERE SERVANTS. Hence please desist from further prolonging the case in Bangalore or supporting the dirty cause of Varada Krishna das who is trashing devotees in a tabloid manner through some websites. Please call for an end to all hostilities being undertaken by means of your underlings in Bangalore and let us concentrate on preaching in our own areas and services given to us by Srila Prabhupada. Only pure devotional service rendered for the benefit of the conditioned souls will help us at the time of fast approaching death.  Let us preach by our own strenghts depending on Srila Prabhupada and Krishna and then LET THE RESULTS SPEAK.

Sriman Madhu Pandit Das proposes settlement with GBC

Editor Note: A lot is being made out of supposed motive of Sriman Madhu Pandit Das in taking ISKCON Bangalore away from ISKCON. Below is a proposal to HH Bhakti Caru Swami dated Feb 1st, 2009, by him and other governing body members of ISKCON Bangalore group of temples to the worldwide GBC body as to how these temples can integrate with world wide ISKCON under the overall supervision of international GBC. If this does not prove the sincere motive of Sriman Madhu Pandit Das and other Prabhus with him, then what will?

Letter by Sriman Madhu Pandit Das to HH Bhati Charu Swami dated February 1st, 2009

Maharaj, please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Please find below a proposal from the members of the governing body of iskcon Bangalore group in pursuance of peaceful co existence under a single GBC.

Dear Bhakticaru Maharaj,
 
Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
 
Thanks for calling Madhu Pandit Prabhu several times in your efforts to bring in some settlement of the dispute after your meeting with Sravanananda Prabhu in the US.  Besides your efforts, Yasomatinandan Prabhu and recently Shankabrit Prabhu and Amiya Vilas swami have been desiring that we sit and talk. Also Jagatchandra Prabhu from Cochin whom you know well and one Muralidhar Prabhu from Hubli has been trying to build bridges between the parties at the ground.  Two days back Shankdari Prabhu from Madurai also sought a sitting with a few of our governing body members to move in the direction of some settlement.
 
Madhu Pandit Prabhu had sent you a proposal by email after speaking to you in Bombay for which so far we have not received any response. That proposal did not envisage handing over all the properties under us to the control and ownership of the GBC but was a ‘live and let live’ proposal.   Hence in the wake of these several further indications for a compromise we are responding with a second proposal where all properties also will be subordinated to the control of GBC.
 
The Governing Body Council of the ISKCON Bangalore group of temples/trusts/institutions (hereafter referred to as IB group) which was recently elected as per Srila Prabhupada’s “Direction of Management”, discussed at length and has the following offer to the GBC. This offer is made whether we win or loose in the current court battle for control of Bangalore temple lest it be thought that this offer is made under pressure of losing and is open for minimum 45 days ( only 24 days left for court verdict to come) and maximum as much as and if extended by us at the end of 45 days.

OFFER:
1. We will subordinate our entire group of organizations with all its properties legally under the direct control of GBC Body (not to ISKCON Mumbai) on par with other ISKCON temples around the world or in any manner GBC decides. But the group will continue to maintain managerial, functional and structural independence as it is existing now and the elected body of IB group of temples will manage these trusts/socieites/institutions and its properties. The GBC shall have full freedom to independently Audit the accounts of the IB group. The GBC shall unleash legal control only in case of  financial impropriety with regard to  the properties managed by the elected body of the IB Group legally under the GBC provided:
 
a. The GBC rescinds the resolution that system of initiation through officiating acharya system after Srila Prabhupada’s Samadhi, as per July 9th,1977 directive issued by Srila Prabhupada, is a deviant doctrine/practice.
  
b. GBC passes a resolution that the officiating acharya system as per July 9th,1977 doctrine can  be practiced by the IB group.
 
 
A committee of best lawyers in the country from both sides shall approve the legal effectiveness of its IRREVERSIBILITY and continued ADHERANCE by GBC. (Both these have to be done in a sound  manner  so that the GBC cannot go back on it after transferring legal control over  properties currently held by the IB group.)
 
c .  IB group will expand its preaching through its temples by co-existing with present temples at a respectable distance from each other both, locationally and philosophically. The nomenclature of these temples can be different to distinguish it from existing ISKCON temples. These new temples opened by IB group will work directly under the elected body of the IB group, which in turn will legally subordinate itself to the larger GBC.
 
d.  No criticism in public of each other is permitted. Debates and discussion on mutually accepted topics can be pursued in approved forums with the objective of further narrowing down the differences over a period of time. Jointly pre-approved statements of conviction of each group and differences will alone be stated to the public, by the rank and file devotees of both parties. For the outside world it is only two different groups who think differently on what Srila Prabhupada desired for spiritual succession.
 
e.  Mumbai iskcon and all iskcon temples/projects/trusts/funds in the world should also subordinate themselves legally to the control of GBC in the same manner expected of from IB group. HH Radhanath Swami’s organisation/trusts/ funds  also should legally come under the control of GBC.
 
f.. GBC should perpetuate itself through elections by electing new GBC members from among the temple presidents all over the world every three years as per the “Direction of Management” issued by Srila Prabhupada in 1970.  
 
g.. Elected representatives from among IB group temple presidents should also be given proportionate representation in the  GBC based on number of IB group temples approved by the IB group and the GBC. IB group will elect them and fill up those allotted number of the GBC position for IB group.
 
 
h. There shall be Guru puja and Vyasa puja only for Srila Prabhupada in all Iskcon temples. All persons who preside over the initiations  should be called ‘officiating Acaharya’ in both camps. Then the only difference in two camps are that one camp  hold that the new initiates are  disciples of person presiding over the initiation, and the other camp hold that the new initiates are Srila Prabhupada’s disciples. For the outside world it is only a different understanding of ‘officiating acarya’. Officiating Acarya was the unambigous nomenclature ordered by Srila Prabhupada for those who were to perform initiation in Iskcon in his conversation on May 28th 1977 when  the GBC representatives met Srila prabhupada with a specific question on initiations “particularly when you are no longer with us.”
 
i. All the leaders of IB group and iskcon should declare their personal assets to the GBC body every three years starting immediately through signed affidavits. (IB group leaders have already done it and even published in leading newspapers of Bangalore.)
 
j. BBT shall promote original unchanged edition of all Srila Prabhupada’s books that existed before the samadhi of Srila Prabhupada by supply to all their customers who place orders and supply changed versions only on specific request of customers.  The current practice is reverse of this. Just a change with regard to which edition BBT will actively promote.
 
k. All fight ends and in parallel we expand preaching under a single GBC body as Srila Prabhupada wanted.

Clearing Some Doubts of Vkd

Varada Krishna Das has understandably gone hysterical today. Since jivahimsa.com has started posting common sense Vaisnava writings by different worldwide devotees, his rantings are becoming more and more apparent by contrast.

What has devotional service to do with putting devotees in Jail. Anyway there are so few devotees to go around. Must be hard work trying to put the most successful devotees in jail. Wonder where he gets the inspiration from—-From George Bush?

Anyway, that is between him and Srila Prabhupada and Sri Narasimhadeva. As far as we are concerned, it is with faith in Krishna’s words we can say that Lord Krishna protects his devotees. Sriman Madhu Pandit Das is not perfect, he is not a pure devotee. He is a simple servant of Srila Prabhupada who may also commit similar mistakes as other temple presidents. But he is trying to serve Srila Prabhupada and protect Srila Prabhupada’s disciples under is care to the best of his abilities. For that he is glorifiable.

And all devotees in the HK Hill understand that. They see Sriman Madhu Pandit Das struggling day in and day out working on their behalf. They see him chanting and attending aratis regularly. They see him providing for them so that all devotees can practice devotional service peacefully. They have also seen other ISKCON temples riddled with politics and guru corruptions. They have also seen the quality of disciples of other gurus. They have seen the fate of other ritviks. Most importantly they have faith in Sri Sri Radha Krishnacandra that all of them will be protected, especially Sriman Madhu Pandit Das from any aggressors.

Proof of what we say is the last 10 years. WHY HAVE NOT THE ISKCON mumbai AGGRRESORS MANAGED TO OVERTAKE THE TEMPLE, PUT MPP IN JAIL, ETC. as they claim, FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS. Do not believe in post dated checks. What has happened in the past will generally happen in the future. Why would Krishna sanction a result where the best run temple in ISKCON is removed from the care of the devotees managing it currently and given in care of devotees like Doyaram who have run the Kolkata temple in the ground since taking over.

So a message for Sriman Varada Krishna Das. Stop day dreaming. Remember Rukmi. Remember Paundraka. How they bombastically declared that they are going to kill Krishna. And were promptly defeated by Krishna. Krishna will never take away the service of sincere devotees. Stop hurting yourself. Instead, help the preaching in Bangalore. Build another big temple if you are such a big collector. Make it function better than what Sriman Madhu Pandit Prabhu is doing. Then instruct Madhu Pandit Prabhu to improve. That will expand the preaching as well as be beneficial to all living entities including for Madhu Pandit Prabhu. May Krishna help you to come out of this influence of Kali.

Why is HH Radhanath Swami quite about BDA activities?

HH Radhanath Swami is famous in ISKCON as a stickler of Vaisnava etiquettes. He is known to often enthuse his followers in Chaupatty and Pune to not committ Vaisnva Aparadha by criticizing devotees or by hearing of criticism to senior devotees.

But where is he in the case of BDA sites? It is well known to all that Varada Krishna Das is driving the BDA sites. Varada Krishna Das regularly has long conversations with HH Radhanath Swmai. In fact HH Radhanath Swami has been given the charge of getting the Bangalore temple back to ISKCON by the GBC Body. This happened last year in the yearly meetings in Juhu in October, almost to the day when HH Jayapataka Swami suffered his unfortunate stroke and was hospitalized. Being in charge of the Bangalore situation, HH Radhanath Swami should “Walk the Talk” and ask his siksha disciple Varada Krishna Das to stop this blasphemy and tabloid like criticisms.

What purpose does it serve other than to try to break the fragile faith in sadha sanga of the neophytes who are being sent to Madhu Pandit Prabhu to guide on behalf of Srila Prabhupada. Adau shraddha, tatha sadhu sanga, tatha bhajan kriya. If the young devotees shraddha in Madhu Pandit Prabhu is shaken, then why will they associate and then how will their bhajan kriya commence and continue? If nothing else, at least one should appreciate and respect the fact that Madhu Pandit Prabhu has guided hundreds of devotees to dedicate their lives to Srila Prabhupada’s mission. And many more hundreds are being sent by Lord Krishna to him to train. Is this a material formula? Why try to disturb that desire of Lord Krishna?

Or is Varada Krishna Das doing this fully aware of the spiritual result so that this can help reduce the material power of Madhu Pandit Prabhu. Is this Vaisnava thinking?

And a more important question for us—Why is HH Radhanatha Swami not stopping this demoniac behavior?

No one on HK Hill Bangalore supports BDA activities

Varada Krishna Das’s personal vendetta against Sriman Madhu Pandit Das has taken such an ugly turn that he has thrown all caution to the winds. In the process he is committing jiva himsa—to himself as well as to his small band of readers.

He not only writes venomous articles on the sites but also writes most of the comments masquerading as if devotees on Hare Krishna Hill are writing. He does it to make believe that there are many devotees with ISKCON Bangalore who are also against Madhu Pandit Prabhu and the issues that he is bringing up is actually not due to his personal vendetta but are broadly felt complaints from the inmates on Hare Krishna Hill.

The actual fact of the matter is that there is not one devotee on Hare Krishna Hill who empathizes with the BDA sites.

It is only Varada Krishna Das or maybe one or two of his close friends who write these comments under different screen names.

There have been devotees over the years who have left the HKH for various reasons. And there have been devotees who have been against the management policies of Madhu Pandit Prabhu. It is expected in any organization and also Sriman Madhu Pandit Prabhu is not perfect. Mostly devotees have left HKH for some of the broad category of reasons, that will also be true for nay other temple in the world.

1. Lack of enthusiasm to continue the process of KC – It was mainly by the inspiration of Sriman Madhu Pandit Prabhu and Sriman Cancalapati Prabhu that hundreds of devotees became devotees of Lord Krishna, and were inspired to take up the process of KC under the guidance of Srila Prabhupada. Some of them, more than 300 over the past 20 years have been inspired to dedicate their life to Srila Prabhupada’s mission full time. As years go by, some devotees are not able to overcome the material attachments and fall back into trying to satisfy material desires inspipte of the best efforts of Madhu Pandit Prabhu and Cancalapati Prabhu. Even in Srila Prabhupada’s physical presence, there were many disciples, even many leaders, personal servants of Srila Prabhupada who fell back into material world or blooped inspite of the best efforts of Srila Prabhupada. Then what to speak of Madhu Pandit Prabhu and Cancalapati Prabhus who are only servants of Srila Prabhupada–sincere servants, but still servants and less than Srila Prabhupada. As they have themselves advanced, they have been trying to guide others to their best abilities. They may have made some mistakes, as everyone does, but their sincerity and enthusiasm to serve Srila Prabhupada is very genuine.

Ananda Tirtha Das and Kunjavihari Das are both in that category. Both, as brahmacaris, were caught engaging in Internet Porn before they left. Since then the internet access policy at the temple has been tightened to protect brahmacaris from this extreme temptation.

2. Lack of Sadhana : Due to various reasons from material desires, to health to improper understanding of the importance of sadhana, many devotees over the past few years have slackened their sadhana. Madhu Pandit Prabhu himself is and is well known to have extremely good sadhana. He ensures that everyone in the temple also keeps good sadhana. Srila Prabhupada has said umpteen times that unless one does so, he will fall down. All over ISKCON, devotees have and will leave ISKCON due to this mistake.

3. Loyalty to ISKCON Gurus: A few devotees have left HKH due to their old loyalty and sentimental attachment to having a physically present guru-HH Jayapataka Swami. The majority of devtoees wanted Srila Prabhupada as their spiritual master, but not all. They felt more comfortable staying in a temple where other devotees think and feel like them. This is matural. Birds of the same feather flock together.

4. Proposed material positions by GBC agents in other ISKCON: Many ex-devotees from HKH have been given management positions all over ISKCON. Most of them cannot air their personal views on guru issue lest they be kicked out. Maintained in a management position by the local temple they remain silent.

5. Personal envy to Madhu Pandit Prabhu – Maybe due to the strict personality of Madhu Pandit Prabhu or maybe due to certain management decisions taken by him in the course of his sincere service to Srila Prabhupada, a few devotees over the years have developed anger and then envy to Madhu Pandit Prabhu. Instead of letting go of the anger, they have let it consume them. Prime example is Sriman Varada Krishna Das. They cannot see all the good qualities of Madhu Pandit Prabhu and all his sincerity and all of his good services to Srila Prabhupada, AND THE EFFECT OF THAT SERVICE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF LIVES OF THOUSANDS OF SOULS.

Similarly, Sanatana Das(in 2006) and another devotee has also left the temple in recent times due to similar feelings for Madhu Pandit Prabhu. They can only see the bad, and no good at all in Madhu Pandit Prabhu!

Our advise to any devotees on HKH is if they have any issue with the management, please go and have a heart to heart talk with Madhu Pandit Prabhu. If it cannot be resolved, then bring it up with the governing body of ISKCON Bangalore group of temples. If it cannot still be resolved and then one cannot be patient to wait for Krishna to intervene, then one can make ones own temple in any part of India. Why criticize someone who is sincerily trying to serve Lord Caitanya and Srila Prabhupada like Madhu Pandit Prabhu and other Prabhus.

Why is Varada Krishna Prabhu not acting like a Vaisnava? Why is he ONLY finding the sores? Why is he so venomously writing the comments under his own articles under different pseudonyms? Why this cheating?

Why Jiva Himsa?

Varada Krishna Das, in his lone personal crusade against Sriman Madhu Pandit Das, through various articles on sites under its admin name and writing comments under various pseudonyms, unveils more personal envy on Sriman Madhu Pandit Das.

What has his venomous articles to do with preaching the srvananam kirtanam VISHNOH smaranam, beats us? How is this devotional service? Of course he will try to screw out some meanings from some out of context statements of Srila Prabhupada, but the fact remains that Siman Madhu Pandit Das is overseeing the largest distribution of the Holy Name, daily 2500-4500 people chant 1 full round of mahamantra at the temple with Srila Prabhupada. He is overseeing the largest distribution of Prasadam all over the world – 1 million plates EVERY DAY. He is overseeing an extremely large distribution of books of Srila Prabhupada—more than 200 sets of SB sets every month! He has been the inspiration and support and siksha guru to thousands of devotees and followers of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada for more than 20 years.

A devotee who is driving these services to Lord Caitanya is glorifiable by all with a non-envious heart. One can judge Varada Krishna Das’s diatribe by this—- In ALL OF HIS WRITINGS HOW MANY APPRECIABLE QUALITIES HE HAS FOUND OF SRIMAN MADHU PANDIT DAS?

Srila Prabhupada defines envy as seeing only bad qualities among good qualities. It does not take much to open one’s heart and glorify the achievements of Sriman Madhu Pandit Das as a service well executed for Srila Prabhupada. THEN, and ONLY THEN, if there are any faults found with some of the 1000s of management decisions of Sriman Madhu Pandit Das, can one bring up the various issues in this manner. Otherwise, these issues should be left to those who have an unenvious heart.

Otherwise, one commits Jiva Himsa. To one’s own spiritual advancement and to the spiritual advancement of others. By hearing and accepting the blasphemy against a sadhaka vaisnava, one who has dedicated his life to serving the Holy Name.

Hence the name – Jiva Himsa.

Citaranga Caitanya Prabhu

In another example of committing Jiva Himsa, Varada Krishna Das and Co., do not leave any stone unturned in blaspheming Citaranga Caitanya Prabhu.

A devotee who has dedicated his life to spreading the Holy Name is being criticized so cheaply!!! That shows the mentality of Varada Krishna Prabhu and his devotee friends. Why should a devotee spend so much of one’s time in criticizing another devotee unless to help him? Why does Varada Krishna Prabhu aka ISKCON BDA spend so much energy in finding faults of CC Prabhu? What is the devotional service performed? How is it a devotional service?

Anyway, let it be between Varada Krishna Prabhu, his devotee friends and Srila Prabhupada. They will be corrected in time. But we will below defend CC Prabhu so as to protect his service from being disturbed and so that the blasphemy committed against a sincere devotee is not left unanswered.

1. CC Prabhu has GYM of his own:

FACT 1: There is no Gym in the whole of HK Hill.
A room in brahmacari ashram has been converted as an exercise room for some brahmacaris. There is a tread mill where any devotee can exercise. There is only one more machine in that room, not a whole Gym. Both these machines have been donated by donors for the health of brahmacaris.

FACT 2: It is not Citaranga Caitanya Prabhus. ANY BRAHMACARI CAN AVAIL THESE MACHINES. The first machine was indeed donated to CC Prabhu and he requested a room in the ashram to be set aside for this purpose. He has cholesterol problem and a doctor had advised regular exercise to him knowing which a donor donated a tread mill.

Insinuating to have a personal Gym in the ashram, VKD and co. would like to give out the impression that CC Prabhu is into body building to attract women etc. A devotee would have seen the genuine motive behind this exercise machine as a desire to continue serving Srila Prabhupada with good health. Instead these devotees have blasphemed CC Prabhu by trying to screw out a wrong motive of his actions.

Continuing in their tradition of Jiva Himsa…

2. Bathroom of his own: CC Prabhu uses two bathrooms on HK Hill. Brahmacari Ashram bathroom and one in Goloka passage. In the ashram, each senior devotee with a room to himself has a bathroom to his own. It was thought that the time of some devotees is more important and hence, since the construction of the new ashram, they were given a
facility to use a specific bathroom so that they do not have to wait to use a bathroom like the case with other brahmacaris. CC Prabhu is no exception. Ananda Tirtha Prabhu and even Varada Krishna Prabhu when they were living in the ashram had their own bathrooms. The bathroom in goloka passage is used by all devotees serving in that area of the temple.

3. Root Beer drinking by Cc Prabhu: Ginder is a root. Many soft drink companies in the West have strong tasting beverages made from Ginger etc. These drinks have nothing to do with being a beer etc. These are soft drinks like 7 Up etc. but with predominantly Ginger or some other strong veg/root as the base. In fact, many of the temples in the West carry similar beverages in their Govinda Restaurants.

4. Kunjavihari’s comments on supposed illicit activities of CC Prabhu of going to Amsterdam, talking early morning to matajis etc. – Atmavat Manyate Jagat. Here, as we are being asked to believe the perception or observation of an individual, much against our wishes we would have to bring up the character of the accuser to show how
much he is under the modes and was engaged in illicit activities while making these allegations. Kunjavihari das, accompanied Cc Prabhu to Germany after pestering CC Prabhu to take him with him. While there living in Ram Shraddha Prabhu;s house, it came to light later, that he was regularly watching porn on the net and searching for ways to study and settle in Germany.(that btw he did within next 6 months). CC Prabhu went to Amsterdam to meet ….at the request of ….a donor friend of Cc Prabhus. Maybe Kunja wanted to go and being spurned for being rejected so was imagining what he was missing out. Otherwise why to criticize CC Prabhu for Just for going to Amsterdam for service WITH NO PROOF?

Similarly with talking to matajis – CC Prabhu has talked to many matajis in his stay at the temple. Many matajis are involved in serving at the Hill. How can one avoid? Why not understand that there will be occasions that one would have to speak to them directly as they are also serving in some capacity that requires for them to interact? Is there any proof of any intimate connection other than TALKING to come up with such hideous insinuations and blackening the name of chaste wives.

It may be noted that this Kunjavihari Das became the President of ISKCON Munich soon after. Apart from being critical of Srila Prabhupada, he was kicked out of the congregation as he was found to be using temple funds for maintaining not one but TWO girlfriends. One may not be able to find a better case of Atmvat Manyate Jagat… It shows the colors of ISKCON BDA and Varada Krishna Das if they have to stoop down to such a level to use Kunjavihari’s accusations.

5. House in Vasanthapura for CC Prabhu’s parents: CC Prabhus father was a govt official in Kerala for whole life. At retirement he got a lump sum amount that he invested in buying one of the apartments that were opened up for sale at the them market rates by India Heritage Foundation floated by ISKCON Blr group. Many many life members and congregation devotees bought those houses at the same rates. CC Prabhus father is still paying installments on that apartment. What is their crime? Why criticize?

6. Taking prasadam for CC Prabhu’s family: So ridiculous that we do not even wish to cover this criticism.

7. CC Prabhus father has been made incharge of currency counting: This criticism insinuates that CC Prabhus father somehow is embezzling funds to CC Prabhu. How low can one get?
